Motivation: I am writing to express my strong interest in joining the "Network for Evidence Synthesis in The Agri-Food Sector" (EU-NESA) COST Action. This COST Action aligns with my commitment to fostering sustainable agriculture and food systems through evidence-based decision-making. The challenges of increasing productivity, efficiency, and environmental sustainability in agri-food systems necessitate robust and unbiased evidence to guide policies and practices. My background in agricultural research and food systems sustainability has provided me with a deep understanding of the importance of synthesizing and applying research findings to real-world challenges. I am particularly motivated by EU-NESA’s mission to promoting evidence synthesis as a core tool for informed decision-making in the agri-food sector.
Contribution: By participating in this Working Group, I plan to: - Enhance awareness and advocate for the value of ES among decision-makers, researchers, and stakeholders to elevate its role in shaping sustainable agri-food systems. - Contribute expertise and support the development and refinement of ES methodologies, ensuring their applicability and accessibility to diverse stakeholders. - Facilitate collaboration and engage with the EU-NESA network to foster knowledge exchange, bridge gaps between fragmented ES communities, and strengthen interdisciplinary approaches. - Promote sustainable practices and utilize ES tools to identify and prioritize strategies that enhance productivity while minimizing environmental impacts, thereby contributing to the European Green Deal objectives.
