Scientific Expertise: Sustainable production
Motivation: I am highly motivated to join this COST Action working group, as it aligns with my commitment to advancing sustainable practices in the agri-food sector. The initiative's focus on enhancing productivity, efficiency, and environmental sustainability through evidence syntheses (ES) resonates with my belief in using robust, unbiased data to inform decision-making. I am excited about contributing to thisi European-based hub that fosters collaboration and improves the use of ES in agri-food systems, addressing the currently fragmented community.By joining this initiative, I aim to support efforts to raise awareness of ES's value among decision-makers and academia, as well as build European capacity for delivering high-quality evidence. I look forward to collaborating with diverse stakeholders to drive informed, sustainable practices in the agri-food sector and contribute to the transition towards more efficient, evidence-based decision-making.
Contribution: Based on the needs of the proposed Working Groups for this COST Action initiative, I will contribute in a practical and collaborative way:In Setting the Scene, assessing the existing landscape of evidence synthesis (ES) in agri-food systems by reviewing existing practices, identifying gaps, and helping map out opportunities for improvement. In Capacity Building with Decision and Policy Makers, examining ways for making ES more accessible and relevant to policymaker and fostering better communication between researchers and policymakers to strengthen collaboration. This includes supporting the development of practical resources and training materials that explain ES in a way decision-makers can easily apply. In Community Building, Dissemination, and Communication, support outreach efforts, with strategic communication plans, organizing events, and creating/utilising platforms that bring together diverse stakeholders to promote knowledge exchange and strengthen the ES community.
