Scientific Expertise: Sustainable production

Motivation: With over 30 years of experience in ecological engineering and sustainable agriculture, I see the objectives of EU-NESA as directly aligned with my professional interests. My work in evidence-based development of aquaponics, urban agriculture, and nature-based solutions has shown me the critical need for structured, systematic evidence synthesis in the agri-food sector.Having participated in previous COST Actions and led international projects, I am familiar with collaborative research and knowledge transfer across disciplines and sectors. I am particularly interested in contributing to EU-NESA’s activities on developing guidelines, improving knowledge transfer, and supporting interdisciplinary collaboration to promote sustainable agri-food systems.Joining EU-NESA would allow me to share my experience while learning new methods to enhance the impact of evidence-based decision-making in agriculture and food production.

Contribution: Why I would like to join WG1:I have extensive experience in developing and coordinating international research and innovation projects in the agri-food and environmental sectors. I can contribute by helping to collect and synthesize practical experiences with evidence synthesis, identify barriers and needs in the agri-food sector, and support the development of the Action Plan for broader collaboration. My interdisciplinary background in ecological engineering, aquaponics, and urban agriculture offers a systemic perspective that is useful for setting the strategic direction of EU-NESA.Why I would like to join WG4:I have over 30 years of experience in teaching at different levels, mentoring, and capacity building, including supervising MSc and PhD theses and developing educational tools. I can support the design and delivery of training activities, mentor young researchers and innovators, and contribute to building a strong interdisciplinary network for evidence synthesis in the agri-food sector.
