Roadmap for the Evidence Synthesis Infrastructure Collaboration (ESIC)

cape town roadmap

For anyone interested in evidence synthesis, it has been a big week working towards a roadmap for the Evidence Synthesis Infrastructure Collaboration (ESIC). About 200 of us have come together in Cape Town to set a plan for better bringing together evidence to tackle the world’s big challenges.

This photo shows some of the hardworking members of the group I co-chaired with Mbah Patrick Okwen who have been tackling the challenge of how best to engage end users of evidence. This includes policymakers, practitioners, researchers and citizens. The work has involved 6 months of lots of meetings at odd hours of the day and the production of many, many papers!

And massive thanks to this extraordinary working group pictured – James Keeley, Kathryn Monk, Peter Bragge, Kerry Waddell, Molly Morgan Jones, Per Olav Vandvik, Paul Flowerdew, Nicola Randall, Harsha Dayal, Mbah Patrick Okwen and all of those not pictured or on LinkedIn!

There have been too many people involved in the process to tag them all but special shout out to Julian Elliott, Robyn Mildon, Kerry Albright and Ruth Stewart for advice along the way and to Will Moy and David Halpern for the great discussions over here
